MedulinHere we are at the far south of the Istrian Peninsula. You will find here at least part of the answer why Istria is referred to as "terra magica" and discover why the Medulin riviera has been chosen by so many families, sportsmen, recreationists, nature lovers and young people as their favorite holiday destination.Along the 70 kilometers of indented coastline, in coves and bays, lie five picturesque towns. The largest and most famous among them, as well as the administrative center is Medulin with a population of 2,500. This is also where the greatest number of amenities needed for a relaxing holiday is located. Owing to the mild climate guests are welcome from early spring to late autumn. A characteristic feature of the Medulin riviera is surely its diversity. Visitors can choose sandy, rocky, pebbly beaches or those with cliffs. There are also beaches with showers, folding chairs and rich sports offer or one of the many secluded coves where you can enjoy the enchanting nature and crystal-clear sea. Nature has been generous. The special characteristic of these beaches are pine trees protecting from the hot midday sun where you can relax with the chirping of crickets. Don't miss visiting the protected area of Kamenjak. Choose one of the numerous coves along the 30-kilometer-long coastline of the peninsula. The crystal-clear sea is of a special color and taste here. You can reach Kamenjak by car, bike or boat. An entrance fee is charged only for visitors arriving by car, and since this is a protected landscape all cars must leave Cape Kamenjak by 9 pm. Favorite beaches for locals, as well as tourists are also the small islands off Banjole - Frašker and Fraškeric. In Medulin Bay Ceja, Bodulaš and Levan islands are the perfect excursion sites since they also provide catering facilities. There is regular boat service to Ceja and Bodulaš islands, whereas all other islands can be reached by taxi boat. Medulin's sandy beach Bijeca is especially attractive for families with young children: there are water slides for plenty of fun all day long. Each town also has its public beaches equipped with showers and toilets indicated on the map. Apart from the already mentioned sandy beach Bijeca in Medulin there is Munte in Premantura, Citinera in Banjole, beach in Pješcana Uvala and campsite Pomer in Pomer. Фото галерея |
