Argonauti Restaurant This top quality a la carte restaurant is situated along Opatija’s Lungo mare promenade and offers its guests unforgettable moments of enjoyment as well as imaginative and varied delicacies and a beautiful view over the Kvarner Bay. It exudes elegance and luxury whilst its uniqueness is created by the frescoes of the Viennese painter Karl Ludwig Hassman which adorn the walls of the restaurant from which it took its name. The painted legend from Greek mythology shows the fight of the Argonauts, seafarers from the Argo and Kolhidan ships which took place in the 13th century B.C. precisely on Kvarner Bay’s shores. Besides the pleasant environment, its numerous guests are always newly attracted by the freshly prepared dishes typical of the Kvarner area and the chef’s excellent delicacies. The top quality offer is completed with a rich wine list offering more than eighty local and foreign wines. Sveti Jakov Restaurant Surrounded by the advantages of a beautiful park and a small church of the same name, in a unique way it connects tastes and tradition making itself a perfect destination for inimitable gourmet delights. Situated in the Milenij II Hotel on the foundations of the old villa built in 1884, it also carries a few characteristics of that period. The old villa was famous because of doctor Julius Glaxo so there are two original menus which carry his name. The restaurant is famous for those two menus. One of them dates back to 1859 and the other to 1873 and they represent unusual delicacies from the Austro–Hungarian period such as soup with stuffed cabbage or terina (a kind of paté) made from goose liver in aspic. Amongst the traditional Istrian and Coastal dishes on the menu you can find the unavoidable Istrian prosciutto, maneštra z bobići (thick corn grain soup) and fuži (a kind of pasta) with truffles as well as seafood from the Kvarner Bay like scampi, mussels, oysters, noble white fish,… The Madonnina Lobby bar Against the silent sounds of the piano enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of the Madonnina Lobby bar, with your favourite drink following a delicious dinner. For your business meetings, you will find this an ideal place for a welcome drink or maybe for the company of a romantic. Café Wagner Those who have visited Opatija before, will surely have visited the well known café Wagner and tasted their flavoursome coffee and delicious pastries.
